Firefox 8 – Ready to install?

On receiving an email from my brother that his Firefox updated to version 6 overnight, I was surprised.
Mainly because on version 5 was released recently but then also because, (per below) it said I had the most up to date release.
Not to be done I Googled ‘Firefox 6 ‘ and a file came up from Mozilla for Firefox 6 so I downloaded it.
On installation the installer said there is a new version of Firefox available 7, would I like to download it.
On installing 7 the same thing happened and version 8 was offered (see below).
I little confused
Perhaps these are all betas but seem very stable/mature
Version 9 looks to be in early alpha so I will ignore testing it for now
I never found Version 6

Looks that they are running on for Ver9 to be in equal with IE9.. =D
Actually, I don’t see any obvious changes between 4 and 5 let alone 6,7,8 or any other higher.
